Point-of-View was launched in early 2026 as a way to both share with a larger readership reflections and engage a paying membership in deeper interactive learning with me directly.
Free Subscribers
I have many historic posts organized in five large categories— PURPOSE, PRACTICES, PERSPECTIVES, PLACES, & POEMS. They are also tagged to relate to another several dozen themes that are searchable if you click directly on the Writing Tab. they cover a lot. I have been writing steadily for almost 50 years. A Free Subscription simply gives POV the right to email you notifications about new posts, and provides a mailing list to which I can communicate directly with an occasional newsletter.
Contributing Membership
A Contribution Membership is a paid subscription that will be for those of you who want to interact with me directly and want to support my writing. Think of it as an extended learning relationship. Contributing Members can comment on the posts. For this I commit to responding to comments and questions. (Free Subscribers will not have commenting capability).
I have two initial posts for Contributing Members that will be be followed by a series of reflections going forward on two themes: Collapse and AI.
- A Radical New Theory of Collapse is the first in a series on speculations about the future and prospects of real collapse in our democracy and other systems. This initial post was inspired by The Deathman's Rattle by Rebecca Costa.
- Transformational Metaphors: A Conversation with Aiden Cinnamon Tea is the first in a series about my use of AI, springboarding off the interesting work of Vanessa Andreotti and the Gesturing Toward a Decolonized Future collective. I hope to have a vigorous conversation with others of you who care about tracing and understanding AI.
As a Contributing Member you will also have the ability to download longer pieces and have access to Infographic Posts where I have spent time explaining my process and thinking. Not every piece in Infographics will have these explanations, which will eventually be part of a book I'm provisionally calling Information Art by David Sibbet.
I also will be posting chapters of my new book, The Seven Transformations of Organization, for Contributing Members. You will be able to comment on its progress as we go along. I'm not committing to a schedule yet, but have already organized a zoom group that is reviewing the main ideas.
I've switched from my old WordPress blog to Ghost's Brief Theme for a couple of reasons. It's a non-profit dedicated to open source software. It does not charge for Contributing Memberships (like Substack which charges 10%). It allows easy linking to other social sites. The backend is much simpler and more user friendly than WordPress. I hope that this publication can begin subsiding my spending more and more time writing!
A footnote. The subtitle for this site is called "Writing from MY Lived Experience." I want these posts to be authentic reflections and not AI processed conceptualization. I do use AI for research and scanning, but not for original writing. The illustrations are all mine with my very own pen or tablet!
