Group Graphics Workshop Flier

Group Graphics Workshop Flier

In 1980 I, David Sibbet along with Geoff Ball and Sandra Florstedt offered the first ever public workshop on Group Graphics®, The Group Graphics Intensive (3 days). This image was created for a flier that advertised the workshop and was intended to viscerally communicate the power of thinking visually by drawing viewers into a 3D simulated environment. It was very well received and the workshop had 20 people who signed up. Many of those like Bob Horn, and Michael Doyle because strong early supporters. The idea for the brochure came from Sandra facilitating Geoff and I in an active imagination session where we imagined receiving and opening a brochure and reading it, then sharing what we saw.

The workshop ran several times. Later on Robert Johansen from the Institute for the Future Attended, along with David Cawood, a strategy consultant from Vancouver who realized that adding graphic facilitation to his offering would differentiate him from other consultants. This idea seeded the understanding that The Grove's early clients would be strategy consultants, not the organizations themselves! That insight drove our early growth.
